Ok, so I'm bored...

I was (still ) thinking about doing another re-set on the phone, which id I've read my info properly, would be a 'soft' re-set. Going to menu and restore Factory Settings.

I initially thought about doing this as the C drive was down to around 4mb. I have since deleted loads of useless apps, and messages, and it's now around 20mb. The phone functions ok, slightly slow now and again, but generally ok.

Is it worth doing a re-set? Can't be bothered really with going through all the installation of everything.

Or should I just wait for the new FW ? (When is it due BTW?)

Press the Red button now....

My vote would be for a reinstall of firmware.

Like you, I installed all sorts of app's when I first had the phone, a lot of which I then uninstalled and others I moved to E:.

In the end I ended up with about 18Mb on C: drive and was operating on roughly 15Mb of RAM.

However, when I debranded and moved to v12, I was forced to reload my phone piecemeal thus getting rid of a lot of old files left by old app's.

I then found that I had 40+ Mb on C: drive and around 40Mb of RAM at boot-up.

Hardware reinstall isn't necessarily a hardware reset anymore though is it? Not with the User Data Preservation malarkey...

We are the Data Preservation society! etc 😉

I need more black coffee!

You're right dave, I should have said that mine went up after I did a debrand and firmware upgrade.

Need to lie down.

Right, now the two have you have got your personal battle out of the way...😊

When *IS* the new FW out, I'm sure I read somewhere it was early October.

I see the hype is picking up pace re the N900, starting to get coverage now here in Saudi. Still feel like my nose has been pushed out of joint with the N97.
