I'm know the phone pretty much inside out now, so I actually think the funtion is missing.... but I might be being a plank.
I think, to update this I need to do the following...
On the home screen....
Options --> Edit Content --> Select the Widget --> choose the edit or settings option
Problem is, there is no edit or settings option :frown:
Please somenoe tell me I'm being a plank! :icon14:

from main screen go to - contacts - then you'll have your favourites at the top with stars on them, scroll to the contact you've just had a big row with - options - remove from favourites

The widget takes your top 4 favourites from your contact list.

The first 4 favourite contacts appear in the widget... order seems arbitary...
Ah! Cool, thanks. What threw me was a memory of being able to edit it from the home screen. Perhaps I dream about a perfect N97 at night!
How do I move a contact up so it makes up one of the top 4?
as far as i know Banzi, you will have to remove all your favourites and then re-do them in the order you want :redface:
i.e, there is no way of doing it!

OK, I have a similar problem - I cant remember how I originially created my favourite contacts, but now I dont seem to have that option!
The contact list I have has no 'favourites' at the top of the list, adn i dont seem to have any edit options to add a contact as a favourite.
I have upgraded firmware/software a month or so ago - could this have affected my loss?
Problem is, one of my favourite contacts shown on the widget is no longer valid and needs to be replaced.
Any help out there anyone.please?
or should I just chuck this heaop of junk for an i instead (rather expensive waste of bad software, seems so far!)
Well people ... the reason you guys cant see the stars by your favourite contact is ... because you guys have selected display and use sim memory .. !!!!!!!!
contacts > options > settings > contacts to display ...... change it to phone memory
and .. WOLLA ... you will see the stars ... then you may amend them according to your needs n change it back ....
