PDF Reader for N97

21 replies · 148,406 views · Started 25 September 2009

Am I right in thinking that the only PDF reader for N97 is Adobe's own Reader LE 2.5, available ONLY through QuickOffice for $14.95?

Is there not a free reader anywhere that works with 5th Edition?

I am perplexed as to why I have to fork out for a reader on my phone, yet Adober give it away on PC/Mac/etc...

There is another available, but it is significantly more expensive.

I don't know of any "free" PDF readers for the N97.

What I'm looking for now is a PDF creator for the N97. I had a good one on my Nokia 9300 and it was wonderful for creating a PDF from a spreadsheet or edited document and then emailing it. It behaved like a printer driver.

Thing is...the S60 5th edition doesn't seem to support any print functions.

seft,
if you mean this foxit may not/wil not work with n97, than the question remains:
Is there a free pdf reader for n97?

Hi folks, I registered specially to post this. I found a free PDF reader that works fine on my N97 mini ! The link is here:

http://www.newsphone.org/pdf-reader-app-nokia-5800-xpressmusic.html

The site links to another page to get it from which is one of those annoying pop up jobs that made me a bit apprehensive but I downloaded it and it installed fine. It says for the 5800 but it does list the N97 mini below and it does work.

The program appears to just be called PDF+ and is by mBrain software. Anyway its fee and seems to work.

😊

Hope you all find it helpful.

Then might I suggest using a PC to go to the site, download the program and install it using ovi suite.

I'm starting to wish I hadn't bothered posting in the first place now 🙄

... and just where in your posting does it mention the salient fact that you are using Opera Mini?

As I mentioned once before, I do not (as indeed do most other forum members) have the following:-

1. A ouija board

2. Telepathic powers

I'm afraid that its no use only giving half the pertinent information and then expecting other forum members to decipher and extrapolate what you really mean.

When posting with a query it is helpful to give as much information as possible to elicit a correct answer in response to your query... would you not agree?

Just a thought bang bang boom, as you are using your handset and not a computer, that may save you some time and confusion is why not create a signature for your on-line profile (like mine at the bottom of this posting), by selecting "User CP" at the top of this page, that contains the following:-

Phone model (classic or mini)

Software version (enter *#0000# on dialpad. should read something like v21.0.045(.C01.01))

Product code (this can be found on the white sticker under the battery and is 7 digits long (providing you haven't changed your product code) i.e. 0570817)

RM code (Regional Model code. 3 digits long. Listed with Software version)

This information would then be displayed on all your postings and lets other forum members know the pertinent details of your handset.

this has annoyed me for ages seeing as the E71 and N95 both have a free version of adobe Lite 1.5 installed and just work. and you can't even downgrade. why would i want to pay for a reader?

i will give the other one posted above a go

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

My umming and arring about buying Adobe Reader for N97 is over.

Pdf+ does just what I want, just how I want it done and it's free! Edit: (or is it?)

The download link is a bit of a pain to locate so here's a mirror from my server:

Pdf+ Standard 1.76 (03) {LINK REMOVED WHILE I CHECK SOMETHING - SEE BELOW}

Hmmm, I'm a little confused now. After checking the About Pdf+ section in the app so that I could put the correct version number in the link above, I checked www.mBrainSoftware.com to see if there was a newer version. On the website I found that the Standard version costs USD$14.99.

Am I running an illegal version?

Hi there,

I tried the same... follow the link, try to download it, both on my N97, and on my Mac using normal web-browser. None works.

Then I decided to google mBrain and PDF+...

Yeah, you can download it from the mBrain site, but PDF+ is NOT a free software.
It's available in 3 versions, and will cost you $5, 15 or 38... the $15 version probably offering the same functionality as Adobe's $15 version.

So the link to the free software doesn't work, and another link to the referenced software leads to non-free software..

Can we start from scratch again?

Hello,

Does anyone know a free pdf-reader for the Nokia N97, the least reliable Nokia ever, that cannot offers so much functionality but cannot even open a PDF-file, which you could do for free on any older Nokia phone....?

I tried to install this and came up with a certificate error ....

Also looking for a free PDF viewer for my N97 .....
