As you may have seen from my other post I got a "new" N97 today and it came with Ovi Maps v3.0 pre installed and someone said I may have a refurbished handset?
So can anyone who has bought one recently tell me what version of Maps it came with? I updated to V12 from V11 before I looked at the maps so maybe that updated it?
Here are a couple of screen shots that make me think it's the BETA. I really hope they're shipping them with this now as I want my "new" handset to be new!

I believe the preinstalled version is only V2 and not V3 from out of the box. Hence why someone suggested that you may have had a preloved phone..
Pretty much zero chance of a Beta version of Maps being shipped out on handsets. What firmware version has your new handset got? If it's V10, V11 or v12 it should have the earlier version of Maps.
Someone has been at your phone. There is a slim chance they might have installed the latest version of Maps if you complained of GPS issues. But again, it's wafer thin.

It is spotless and looks fine, they said it only got delivered yesterday. It was from a Nokia shop run by Mobile Phones Direct.
All works fine now so I'm not too worried just wasn't expecting it. The *#92702689# showed the life timer to be at 0.

but judging by your screenshots.... you already have it which means that your phone is second hand as someone has installed this.
I can't imagine Nokia releasing a phone with Beta applications as standard since they are still testing them and are not featured in any firmware release.
What is your product code and firmware version please?

Hello,
I called Nokia this morning and they advised me all new N97's are now being shipped with Ovi Maps 3.0 which is upgradable at home to 3.01.
She also told me my phone was made 4/9/2009 and had no replair history!
Phew now I can enjoy my NEW working phone!
