Hard reset question

Do I have to backup all my settings etc before doing a hard reset?

Does a hard reset revert the phone to it's original state when it came out of the box?

Reason I ask, is I accidentally downgraded BBCIplayer and want to get back the better version that came with my phone on Vodafone contract.

How do you do a hard reset? And don't say 7370! It leaves Mass Memory in tact, and therfore shortcuts buggered.

Hmmm, did a hard reset *#7370# and BBCIplayer did not revert to the version that came preloaded.

Any way I can ensure this happens?

I want the preloaded version back.

*#7370# isn't hard reseting thats why.
It's just a soft reset that returns the phones settings to factory, ie. homrescreen, profiles etc

To hard reset you need to
1. Turn off phone
2. Press these buttons simultaneously: Shift + Delete + Space + Power button

Hard reset leaves the mass memory intact and only returns the c:drive to factory.

I'm not sure if this will solve your problem regarding BBCiplayer because when I had to do a hard reset after my v12 update I didn't get alot of the preloaded apps that originally came on the phone back, ie. I didn't get BBCiplayer, Amazon, Youtube and I had to redownload Accuweather from OVI.

I would advise you make a backup though in case.
