Is a screen protector a must?

7 replies · 2,383 views · Started 02 October 2009

I purchased a case and a free screen protector came with it, but even though I tried to ensure there was no dust on the screen when applying the cover, some managed to get under there and it looked awful.

I have now removed it.

Do I really need one?

How tough is the screen?

Yes! Otherwise you will get very small scratches only after a few days time... And the screen will look horrible.

I thought I could get away without one as my N95's screen was perfect by using a phone sock and just being generally careful.

I've now got two scratches on the 97's screen and I really don't know how they got there. So in hindsight, I wish I had put a protector on it.

I've had mine since June and I haven't had a screen protector on there at all, no scratches and is as good as new. I don't even carry it around in a phone case.
IMO not necessary, depends how you treat the phone.

I agree, so I really don't know how mine got scratched! I'm so careful people take the P*ss!! 😃

I did a bit of research and got a clarivue screen protector - i'm pretty impressed with it, and it's not glued on, which is a good thing, easy to remove and re-apply or replace.
