I have just updated my n95 8gb (0559497) RM 320 (94.01) with latest FM 30.0.018 and I am not very happy with it, its very slow on all application. I would like to go back to old FM. Can I do that? if I can't, how can I fix it...chaning product or something may help???

I posted this before . Somehow it seems to be lost . Anyway I don't know how to reinstall older firmware . Since Nokia doesn't publish older and newer firmware parallel . So , instead see if some of the suggestions in my post here can help to solve the issue .
Be aware , before a hard reset to have a Backup of your personal data :

Thanks for the reply jApi NL, I have already done a full Back Up, now if I do soft or hard reset: Will it bring back the old fw?? which one I should do? after reset can i update to 30.0.018 again???

Sadly not possible - the update process only appears to allow upgrade, not a downgrade.
Even if you changed to a product code that say only had v20 as the latest, it would probably still say the same.
Reset doesn't bring back the old firmware . The recent installed new firmware stays in the device . The reset removes all old data - also unwanted and useless data - from the phone : makes it shopfresh like a new phone ("mean and clean"😉 .
Afterward just reinstall the desired personal data . Now the functioning of the phone should be fast and proper again .
To keep memory clean read tips from this thread :

Thanks guys for your response, i have got few more question to ask??
1.So, soft reset should do the trick, no need for hard reset...???
2.I also want to add Turkish language on it, shall do it before the soft reset or after...??? what is the product code for this? (there is many codes in the forum I dont know which one is correct for my phone)
3. NSS ( NSS103815) keeps given scan error...??? how can i overcome this??

I will stick to the first one . My post here :
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum//forum/thread/81021/
is a step-wise solution . Start with 1) . Doesn't work ? Go to step 2) etc. etc. etc. etc.
When you have a Backup , you can also go straight to step 4) or 5) .
About reflashing you can read the sticky thread of Stuclark on top of the N95 Forum .

Hi Gentlemen , I hope Soft Reset will do , it is he easiest to handle . After the soft reset (Factory Settings) , you only got to personalize the settings again . But all other data are safe . Sometimes is not enough ...
Make a different thread for other questions , like " Turkish Productcode for N95 8 Gb ? " . Etc.

Well I have done the soft reset, no difference to be honest, still same as before, after I have done the hard reset phone was brilliant it was so fast, of course there was nothing on it, and Backed up with my contacts, message, settings, bookmark and calender/ notes....
then went slow again, then I have deleted lots of videos, images and songs, and my memory status atm;
Mass Memory
7672 Capacity
2705 Used
4967 Free
I am sure that before my memory was more than half full but it wasn't slow like this. (since Update FW i believe).
I will search the Language pack once I get this NSS working on Vista...

For fast functioning of the phone it is important that C: drive (Device memory) and especially RAM or D: drive have enough MB . Mass Memory or E: drive doesn't have so much impact on speed . On my phone :
E: max 7,6 GB , Free 1,2 GB
C: max 136 MB , Free 106
D: max 111 MB , Free 72 (on boot up)
Z: = ROM (Firmware) 19 MB
You can use Nokia Device Status or Patrick Frei PhoNetInfo to check the free memory :

Here is mine...
Device memory:
Memory in use: 55 MB
Free memory: 79 MB
ROM memory: Total: 8512 kB
RAM memory: Free: 83 MB, Total: 120 MB
C drive: Free: 79 MB, Total: 134 MB
D drive: Free: 83 MB, Total: 83 MB
E drive: Free: 4967 MB, Total: 7672 MB
Memory card: Not available
Hard disk drive: Free: 4967 MB, Total: 7672 MB
Do you think its ok?

Device memory or C: 79 MB , RAM or D: 83 MB . Is excellent for functioning . N97 users will have rolleyes when seeing these figures ...... !

Thanks that is good, but still, I don't understand when I go to Contacts (from my shortcut scroll down button) takes about 2 second to open it. Also some other application opens late as well. This all started after 30.0.018 installed...😡😡😡

Maybe battery life is better ? I really would not know the right answer . It can allso be a "heavy" loaded theme or background picture .
When it is a corrupted file , slowing the device down , it will be quite a workaround to find out .
1) backup personal data like calendar and contacts
2) hard reset the device
3) install all third party apps separatly , checking the phone meanwhile after each install
4) just sync calendar , contacts and maybe bookmarks (the less the better) .
5) do all settings manually , or at least separately (like accesspoints)
Maybe getting used to the new speed is a solution as well .....

I will try all those you've suggested, may be remove most of the things I ve added myself or like you said, I may have to put up with it as its...
Thanks for your help anyway m8..
