My N97 (v12) is having a problem.
My two "live" widgets on the homescreen (Accuweather and Facebook) have somehow gotten the idea that they can only connect via my home WiFi network and ignore any other connections in my Destinations list.
I've tried rebooting, changing the order of destinations, removing them from the home screen and adding them back, etc. but these two applets seem to be "stuck" in wanting only my home WiFi.
In this condition they are in an endless loop of "WiFi connection not available."
Any ideas of how to go about fixing this?
For the mean time, I've removed them from my home screen so that they aren't constantly giving me error messages.
Why are so many N97 programs so poorly written that they get stuck!
I found the workaround (I hesitate to call it a "solution"😉 is to delete the WiFi access point which then forces the applications to prompt you to select a connection.
I really hate to have to reconfigure my WiFi over and over again--entering the long password for the WPA2 encryption.
I had a similar problem until I worked out that the widgets seemed to follow the Destination set in the in built browser.
I therefore changed the browser setting to Access point = Internet (which is my Destinations default name and has wifi as priority followed by my operators web connection)
My browser default was set to "Always ask".

That could be the problem... the widgets don't ask after connecting.
I'm sure the widgets use the web feeds settings in your browser settings and they can not be set to always ask
The homescreen widgets then could not possibly use the Web browser feed settings as I have always had that set to AT&T Internet (my 3G provider) since some of the WiFi access point that I'm around block certain ports needed for RSS feed updates and email.
So far my workaround (above) has solved the problem....now I just want to know what triggered it to behave like it did since it had been working well for some time before it started complaining this morning.
in the web feeds settings do you have "update when roaming" enabled ?
