Would be useful. Are there any plans?

I know it can work on at least one Nokia phone according to the Skype website.

It's not in the v20 firmware I'm afraid.

Being dangled as a possibility in a future update.

I have it on my Nokia N95 8GB.

Also have it on the N97 with the excellent Nimbuzz prog. which offers not only Skype but MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AIM, Google Talk and more. One login, one contact list, all accounts. See here:-

not sure if fring allows ip-calling though

v20 atm doesnt hv skype integrated, but apparently there's going to be SIP settings that you can adjust, but not sure if it's for the skype network or not

I want Skype and I want to be able to use front camera as a webcam and do video conferencing! I KNOW it is possible and it would be really cool - why can't they freaking do it?

So, I just read on Wiki what SIP is. I guess we can't have Skype unless we have SIP. But how can Fring do wha Skype does without SIP?

Skype is one means of VoIP that doesn't use SIP at all. It uses its own proprietry point to point connections.

As others have said, you can use Fring to make Skype Voice calls. You can also use Fring as a gateway to a SIP provider of your choice.

You may find this posting from my blog informative...

Then again, you may not. 😊
