at the local nokia store

up for preorder, but only the Raoul limited edition one

first impressions on vanilla 97 mini:

- menu key press has a better tactile feedback, looks better too, a button that has a mesh top
- c drive @ 239.1MB free
- screen feels more sensitive then 97-1
- smaller screen doesnt look as nice compared to the 97-1, even though resolution remains the same
- version 10.0.1 dated 3-10-09
- kinetic scrolling is a little laggy, but nicely done
- keyboard tactile feedback feels better than the 97-1
- no transitions as default (as expected)
- slider is more...solid, compared to my month-old 97-1
- no proper task manager so could not view free ram, unfortunately

my verdict:
would i sell my 97-1 for the 97-2? Maybe. the only thing is the smaller screen, it doesn't jive with me. but for the bigger C drive? likely

the missus will kill me though if i traded my 97-1 for the mini lol

Is it noticeably any smaller? And if so, is it a bother? Because the Mini just looks kinda distorted to me compared to the N97...

Don't forget that the N97 Mini has 8Gb storage rather than 32Gb, and from what I've read on the net, there isn't any video calling facility either.

don't trust everything you read on the net 😉

no, it's not noticeably smaller at first glance, until you put the screens side by side, then only it starts to look a lot smaller

admittedly the menu/green/red buttons look full-sized, and out of place on the smallish looking chasis

also, the clock 'widget' is now movable around the desktop. movable, but not removable
