v2 monitor widget

Most people that read the N97 threads are eagerly awaiting v2.

Many of these people have wondered "Who is going to post the first 'v2 is available!' message".

Some of these people would like a widget for their N97 that polls the same source that Navifirm 0.1 uses to tell them when v2 is available.

If somebody that can knock up polling widgets quickly (you know who you are) spoke to the author of Navifirm....

Just a thought 🙄

Widget now available at http://davecozens.com/n97/firmware.wgz

Use options to enter the product code you want to check for.
defaults to rm-505 (for N97). Works for other product codes, such as rm-421 for n95 8gb...

Enter multiple product codes like this: rm-505,rm-506,rm-507

Reloads every 10 minutes or so.

Not the prettiest widget ever, but does what it says on the tin...

Well, it always connects via WiFi and doesn't close the connection. This sucks (my battery empty) 😊

How about starting a sweepstake and we can have can keep that updated too via a widget as to the size of the prize money and eventual winner?

I'll go for the first week in November ( 2010 ) .....😮

I'd say it's not much use as a homescreen widget TBH, and I wrote it 😉

It reloads every time the screen orientation changes, but I knocked it up in half an hour I had free... and I think it's a waste of homescreen space. It's unlikely nokia will launch firmware in the middle of the day.

It's quicker than NSU though 😉 Just run it as an app every morning and so long as Nokia keep their xml up to date it'll tell ya if there's new firmware...

Edit: Oh. And if it always connects via Wi-Fi that's a phone config issue. Widgets have no control over network selection AFAIK.
