Does anyone know how I can do this? While in Mass memory mode one day the N97 decided to store messages on the C: drive instead, despite me setting it to the E: drive. So I have about 70 messages on my C: that I now want to move to E: - does anyone know how I can do this (with Ovi suite or otherwise)?
Copying texts from C: to E:
On Ovi suite goto tools and then content copier to backup your phone.
You can also mark all messages on the phone and move to My Folders but I'm not sure what drive that is on.

Yes, that backs up the phone. But I want to move the texts from C: to E:, the backup will only restore everything on the device the way it was.
That's a main problem SMS on S60 . S80 was no problem . I am not using PC or OVI Suite , nor I have a N97 .
1) I have been reading on this Forum somewhere that changing the Settings from C: to E: , the SMS messages move over automatically . This might be only the first time though .
2) Factory or Hard Reset changes the Settings of Messaging always to C: . So the first thing to do , after Reset , is change Settings to E: .
3) I suppose , using PC / Ovi Suite , you can move messages to any Folder ?
4) To be able to hold 2000 messages , I use both E: and C:

open Messaging ..
Select Inbox .. // Options // Settings // Other (you may have to scroll)
Memory in use ..
IF you select E: .. you will be offered the choice to copy all messages to the new location ..
The same applies for Sent .. and other folders..
That should do what you want

It should, but I've found if you've done it once before and you have to do it again cos it's changed by itself, it won't give you the option to copy/move your messages. I think if it looks on the selected drive and sees that a message inbox has already been made, that's when it doesn't give you the option.
this is a bug in the latest s60 phones and there is nothing you can do about it. if you originally had your texts on C drive, then you switched to E drive, and now you switch back to C drive, you now effectively have TWO different inbox's full of texts. and there is NO WAY to merge the two. so you are stuck having to pick one or the other to continue using. stinks.
