Why am I being moderated?

I think there is some kind of auto-spam detection enabled on the forum, and you might have used certain words that identified your previous posts as being potential spam. I'm sure a moderator will have a better answer.

Don't take it personally...

it happens to most of us at one time or another.

As celios mentioned, it's the auto spammer kicking in. 😊

I replied this morning after work and only wrote "Thank You".

When I got up, I saw that my post was not there so thought I had forgotten to thank the poster who replied to my question and all I posted this time was "Thanks"

I can't think of anything I may have written on here that may have caused it being one of those rare persons who never swears. I am the only one at work who doesn't.

Well, let's be honest, "Thank You" is incredibly offensive! 🙄

Maybe I am foul mouthed after all, and I have been in denial all these years.

I really must learn to curb my language! 😃

Maybe the problem is that, as an N97 owner, you should be swearing... the fact you aren't is making the spam detector suspicious... 😃

I get this quite a lot and it happened yesterday when I was replying to the v20 widget thread. What I have noticed is that I only get moderated when I post from my work pc, as it's got a different ISP from my usual, it looks a bit suspicious.

Having said that, not ALL my posts from work get moderated, some do slip through the net. But it is annoying when I write a reply but it doesn't show up for at least another day!

Some posts are automatically moderated. The system is based on akismet and its not perfect. I do tweak it every now and then to try and keep ahead of spammers.

Apologies if some of your posts vanish. Please feel free to contact me directly if there's a specific post that need clearing (I do try and check the queue on a regular basis, but I'm not always as efficient as I could be).

And yes short posts will trip moderation - mainly because one to five word answers are often spammy, but not always long enough to detect as such.

Just cleared out the queue now. A few thank yous in there 😊

Just a thought Rafe maybe a thankyou button would work better, i have used them on many forums it saves lots of thankyou posts.
