i'd feel it was less appropriate to help you unlock somebody elses n97 by email or forum post.
if it's yours, can't you go to your network?
Firmware flashing has no impact whatsoever on the SIM lock (it neither unlocks, locks or re-locks).
You can easily unlock it by the simple methods. Just purchase the code from http://www.unlocking4u.com/unlock-your-phone/rs6wp2/ then unlock your mobile.

Rubbish! No online remote unlock method yet exists for N-Series handsets.
