Ok, so had an N97 for a few months, but had enough of it and had enough of waiting for the new FW upgrade too. One thing I do like, is the slide out QWERTY keyboard, so looking for a similar phone.
Kinds ruled out the Samsung i8910 and the SE Satio as they both have virtual k/b's.
Apart from:
32gb mass memory
Touchscreen
5mp camera
Big screen
What will be main differences in day to day use?
I want a solid reliable phone with good quality keyboard. I will be buying sim free handset only.
What is the latest FW version? Is this working well?
Will be surfing a lot, so want a good browser.
I presume I can still run Joikuspot?
And anyone know if I can run iSync with an E75 and my Mac?
TIA
I have experience in both. Personally I would suggest getting the E75. It has a smaller battery, but the N97 has very poor power management.
The E75 is very quick and stable though the firmware isn't perfect yet. The keyboard is definitely better than the N97's. It has four lines of keys (versus the N97's three lines), and the keys are larger and offers a better feedback than the N97. Even the space key is in the proper location!
The E75's browser pretty darn good, but it does lack the higher resolution screen of the N97. But Opera Mini works so well on the E75 (and other S60 devices) it isn't a huge concern.
The N97 has some pretty good things going, but it is extremely buggy at the moment. v20 firmware is supposed to be out soon, but who knows how good it will be...
Thanks for the info.
AS I was looking in the local phone shop at the E75, I was loathed to hand over any more money to Nokia, over the extreme disappointment with the N97. A 500pound phone that can't even take phone calls properly!
So, went home and dug out my old N95, and been using that for the last few days, and so far, enjoying using it again. Life just seems more simpler - and easier - with the N95.
Will wait for the new FW for N97, goodness knows when that will be out - next year anyone?
