Single vs. Double-tap IDEA!

While sitting here pondering whether to:

1. Go ahead and reload all my software, music, photos, videos, ebooks, spreadsheets etc. which were deleted from my N97 when I sent it in to get the GPS and lens scratching problem fixed (they reflashed to v12).

-or-

2. Wait until v20 firmware comes out in case I have to do the massive reloads of my data all-over-again after the new firmware install.

I came up with a concept for the single-tap vs. double-tap user awareness dilemma...

If an menu item requires a double-tap instead of a single-tap, why not "ghost" the selection and overlay it with a "Tap again to Confirm" watermark or at least change color?

In this fashion, every user display "tap" is confirmed in some way and you're not left wondering "Didn't I already tap that?".

Hopefully this idea isn't already patented somewhere so that Nokia can go ahead and use in the OS.

I'm sorely tempted to reload everything now as I am CERTAIN beyond a shadow of a doubt that no sooner then I reload everything, Nokia will come along and FINALLY release v20 for my RM-507 N97.
