So, rushed home from work, as I knew v20 was out. Connected everything up and waited patiently for the download to finish.
Can you believe it got to 138mb ( out of 140 ) and then NSU just crashed.
Tried several times to reconnect, but now it doesn't even start the downlaod, just says update failed.
:frown: 😡😡
F****g hate Nokia.
Between you and MonarchX, I'm wondering just what is going wrong.
Did you buy clone knock-offs instead of genuine N97s?
Before you tried updating the firmware, did you have a full charged battery (turns out that this is VERY, VERY important)?
Did you leave your N97 in Normal mode (required) instead of turning it OFFLINE?
You guys have my sympathies...
I've been trying to update for hours aswell with no joy, think I've tried every possible way of updating and every combination and services and drivers.
Giving up for now and going to bed 😞

As far as I'm aware, it's a fully genuine Nokia N97, bought it from a main 'high street' phone retailer here in Saudi, so it should not be a clone. I hope it isn't considering how much I paid. The last two updates have worked fine.
As mentioned, the download had got to very nearly completed before NSU packed in. Although the phone didn't have a full battery at the start, it was connected to the laptop so was being charged. Everything was as it should be - back up done, phone in 'general' profile.
Would it really be worth trying it with a full charged battery - can't see this making much of a difference?

Have you tried reinstalling NSU? Are you using the original USB->microUSB cable?
Yup, using the original USB cable that came in the box.
Might have a go at uninstalling and re-installing NSU. Why do they make it so difficult, and why is there no NSU for Mac?
