How does it work or what am I supposed to see? I have ton of contacts and when I go in and scroll - the scroller stops exactly when I remove my finger... is it not supposed to keep scrolling? I tried doing same motion as I saw in videos...but it just won't scroll.... WTF...why is this firmware not bringing same features to all the phones?

Gee, with all the problems you've had I'm beginning to wonder if you have a real N97!
In your contacts app, the "scrubber" is along the right-hand edge of the screen. It sounds like you're using that and confusing it with the scrolling function.
To use kinetic scrolling in the contacts app, "flick" or "swipe" your finger in an upward or downward motion in the middle of the screen.
