i upgraded my pc for a windows xp and never got my irda (sigmatel irda-usb dongle) receive files from my 7650 anymore, it does prompt that someone is sending a file. the weird thing here is that you can see the 7650 sending a file, remember there is like a bar which indicates how may percent of the file you already sent, the bar just send like 20% of it and hangs up, after that my phone just crashes and restarted by itself, any idea about this?
irda windows xp help
This is what I did to solve that problem:
1) When the icon appears in the system tray that indicates your phone is connected, double click on it - this brings up the wireless link file transfer box.
2) Click Properties
3) Click the Hardware tab and then the Properties button
4) Click the Advanced tab
5) Change the Value for 'Infrared Transciever Type' to something other than the default.
Suddenly I could transfer files good as gold, where before it would only transfer intermittantly, the transfer would crash etc.. (still don't work properly with pc-suite tho)
are you using the same irda too?
still cant get it to work .. anymore ideas?
Hrm, well attatched is a pic of my adapter, as you can see it is labelled a BAFO, but it initially detects as a sigmatel.
Changing the driver as above worked for me on XP pro (service pack 1a). It connects with no problems with the default driver on win2k.
Try uninstalling everything and reinstalling PC suite first, then the adapter.
Sorry I can't think what else.....
i dont have pc suite installed. i tried the direction you gave me but it gave the same result ... hmmm, when i was using a wind98se my ir works properly, do you think the ir isnt compatible with the xp? or its just my firmware version, it sound so irrelevant but i herd alot of complains bout 3.12 and maybe this is one of them. thanks!!
