Nokia N86 - Vista laptop

Right, i changed my phone product code using Nemesis, and put in a Uk variant code, all went okay, and Nokia Updater updated the phone to Version 11.something, but i knew that version 2 was out. So i changed the product code again to a Euro one. Then ran the Nokia Updater again. It found an update and downloaded it okay, then when it was applying the update to the phone i had a windows error message about Nokia application or something very similar, "application needs to close" So i left the Pc trying to apply the update for about 15 mins and still no luck.
Phone was now stuck on White Nokia screen for about 20mins. In the end i had to remove the battery from the phone, after this the phone was bricked.
It will buzz on turning it on, but thats all.
I tried the hard reset and everything but no joy.
so i tried JAF but this has given me just as much of a Headache.
I download and installed Jaf no problems.
I downloaded Navifirm no problems
I downloaded the right Firmware no problems
I downloaded the v4 key thing about 15times from various sources and have probably also installed viruses.
No matter what program i tries i could not open the V4 thing, so i downloaded V5 and it seems to have done the trick.
I have none of the appdata or Phoenix folders, so i create them and copy the navifirm downloads into ALL of them.
Jaf starts and when i go through the settings, up pops a list of phones to pick from. BUT N86 isn't on this!
So i check
Dead USB
Manual Flash
Factory Settings (in the top box- as there are two factory settings boxes)

But i get "Can't detect flashing server!"

No matter what i do i can't get past this.

I am going to try and take the phone back to the shop in an hour or so, but i would still like to know where i went wrong, i have searched forum and googled, but no help anywhere.

You weren't trying to flash a NAM N86 with euro firmware, were you? I wouldn't think that they would be compatible, even if you changed your product code, since they have different 3g frequencies. Maybe I am wrong?
