Coming from an N95, i just wanted to find out a few things about the Iplayer on an N97.
There was originally a hack that allowed enabled streaming over 3g.
I'm on Three who allow live tv streaming, and on the N95 it was fantastic.
The N96 allows you to download shows over wifi and watch later.
What version number should i be looking for and what does it allow you to do.
I would like the live streaming and ability to download, then i would be a very happy lady.
I'm in the UK and on three unlimited data plan, so hoping to get the best out of iplayer.
One last question, where to install it?
Cheers people.
Latest version on ovi store does all the things you want. Ovi store will store to E: by default which is the best place to install.
Including live streaming?
Vodafone also must allow live streaming as it was included in the original iplayer (v2.01) on my phone when I first got it, but after connecting to BBCiplayer web site, I was told I needed an update. I allowed it and the version went down to v1.60 or 1.61 (memory failing) and there was no option for live tv anymore.
I would love to get this back if possible.

You can get live tv from www.bbc.co.uk\mobile\live\tv
Its a pain that it is not part of IPlayer as on the N95 et al.
I upgraded to the latest version and initially lost streaming over 3G but thats regained if you place "Contract WAP" and not "Contract Internet" as your default access point.
The main thing i'm peeved about is losing the ability to download onto the phone, i just reinstalled with the version from the Ovi store and its made no difference.
How can we go back to the old version???
Cheers

Yep, on the N95, if you updated you lost streaming, but then a new version came out streaming was available for those on 3uk and Voda.
I believe they are the only two companies that allow iplayer streaming on 3g, all the others have blocked this. That situation may have changed, perhaps tmobile and orange users could let us know?
According to these links, i should be able to "download" programs to my N97
But i can't there is no download link!
My Iplayer version is 1.6
i think the download was available in version 2, but i can't find this anywhere.
Also why no live tv like in my 2 year old N95?

Please help as this is my killer app for wasting time!
EDIT:
What gives, the "download" link wasn't there last night, but is there now!
Going out later to see hat happens when i'm on 3g.
Think i'll leave iplayer open when i leave, and see what happens!
