Version 1.2 was released few days ago..
Here are the changes I noticed:
- new version 106kb compared to 97kb for old one
- when i send a msg, it gives me a note saying "sending message: (the message)
- when i'm in the contact list view and someone sends a msg, at the bottom of the screen it says "Click: 1 message(s)"

major problem for, i've isntalled tipic 1.2 and it doesn't show in the java apps, any ideas?
it says in the manager that the application is there though as it's the only application i have (in the java apps that is)

A Comparison between JustYak (www.justyak.com) and TipicME (www.tipic.com)
Have just download Tipic IM ver 1.2 beta on 7650 and tested it. I think
tipicME features like register new user, add/delete buddy, set icq,yahoo, etc all need
to be done by PC client. I even cannot exit the app. JustYak done everything on the phone , much better approach.
It is currently size is around 90Kbytes, much bigger than JustYak 65Kb, waste of precious memory.
TipicME connection is poor, always throw me out after logon so that's it for me.
I am on Justyak, come chat with me in the chatrooms!

I'm the developer of TipicME, but I don't go in every forum telling "TipicME is good, JustYak is poor". I'm here to make support, to ear suggestion, to watch what is working and what not, not to tell how is ugly JustYak.

After i have made a IP scan, both post came from a totally different IP address.
Tho' this is considerate a open forum, I'm agree with Gino that we must respect others property and work. Action will be taken to those does not follow our forum policies.

@Edgedael, ok, this is a open forum, but I think cross-posting and repeated posts are not really a god thing... Also, if two people wrote in every post "TipicME fu*k, JustYak is better", I have to think this people are not here to exchange information like other forum users, but just to spam and to make confusion in other people. I think you have to make some action.
PS I also could post with a lot of different IP: from home, from office, from the PC of my girl, from my phone, etc. 😉

Please forgive me if I said TipicME is poor (did I really?). I am so sorry to hurt your pride, but you got to fix that connection issue. I am not a developer and not hired by JustYak and do not have a name called scarborogh...... so don't waste anybody's time. If you are here to help, why don't you help me on my other posting on 7650 vs S57, can I get a better connection if I use S57? I am really considering S57.
By the way, someone just posted about something called IM+. Need to check that out, too. May be you should also ask the moderator to check the IP, just in case, you know. 😃

I sincerely hope your posts are casually in touch with the scarborough posts, but I can't believe you in a single day wrote 3 of 4 posts telling about JustYak and TipicME. I will go to work to the connection problem, of course, but why you don't tell more about it? What kind of error you have? I'm here, and also other people which successiful use TipicME could help you to splve your problem. Probably you mistyped the login/passwd, or just you inserted as login "[email protected]" instead of "yourname". A lot of people make this error, I have just to search the forum or our site or, of course, our support contact. But, I know, it's better go in the forum and tell "TipicME is poor... bla bla bla".

Having looked at both I actually prefer TipicME. It worked better for me. I don't why your having such problems exiting the apps. It works the same as every other Symbian app (i.e. you dont really need to).
I've sent scarborough an e-mail to find out whether he's the developer or not. I don't mind cross postings from a developer about their software (so long as it applies to the dvcie in question), but if a user does this its coming a bit close to spamming if you ask me (especially with no varitaion between the posts); this is more so when negative comments are made about another program in the same class.

I believe only if you have done what you had done to suspect what others are doing the same as you. heh heh heh....
