Hi all, ive just got an n97 mini and have a question about transerring my photos onto it.
im trying to transfer a bunch of photos to be organised into albums and wondered if theres a way i can do this easily? is there anyway i can specify an album when i transfer them?
They all seem to show up in the "downloads" section which is ok as i can go in and assign them to albums but they dont get removed from here so it makes it really difficult to pick out which ones u havnt assigned to albums yet.
Ive seen a few posts on this subject already but didnt see any real solutions, anyone got any suggestions? Wish there was a way the albums could be actual folders in the file system then i could just drop them into those!
ASFAIK, there isn't any easy way to do it.
The only solution would be to browse via file explorer but you won't then get thumbnails unfortunately...
Did you come across this thread ?

Thanks for your help, shame as it would be really handy. Maybe something will crop up in the future.
Or even if the photos just disappeared from the "downlaods" folder once theyve been assigned to an album that would be enough for me 😞
I use the Photos application companion on the PC. Its called Ovi Photos where you can organize, tag, create albums and arrange them in timline or upload them to Ovi,Flickr or Vox and even create movies. Then i easily synchronize them with my Nseries devices. You can also tag the images in the device and then synchronize them to PC. And you have the option to shrink the images (the quality will be compromised but the size will be very smaller so you can store more images in the device).
This include Videos als.

Is this the photos section within Ovi Suite? Ive downloaded Ovi Suite 2.0.0.10 which appears to be the latest at this time. It appears as if I can manage photos stored on my pc and place those in "albums" however this isnt saved when the photos are transferred or synced - the photos transfer across but not they are not put into albums 😞
If theres something else u are using please can u let me know what it is. if not is there anything i can use to drag and drop photos on the pc into albums on the device? This is a real pain 😡
OK, looks like this might be getting somewhere 😃
Ive downloaded the Nokia Photos app which is different to the Ovi Suite, you can grab it here:
http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software/nokia-photos
This appears to allow u to setup albums with the photos u want it, then u can drag the entire album across to the device which then sets up the new album with your photos already in there 😃
Thanks for all your help guys :icon14:
No,its not the Photos organizing options in the Ovi Suite,i even didnt installed this suite because its very buggy and still use PC suite.
Download Photos version 1.5 from Nokia Betalabs: http://betalabs.nokia.com/betas/view/nokia-photos
bythe way the final version is 1.6 i guess. keep in mind you can organize the SMS,MMS and Notes with this software but i choose (i am not too much in Messaging) to sync photos and videos only.
it was integrated in Ovi Suite version 1.1.
thanks for the info. I downloaded the nokia photos app (latest version) and can confirm u can create albums on the pc add your photos to it then drag the whole album across to the device. Really useful bit of software, thanks a lot for the help! 😊
