Help with FM transmitter

I bought a Nokia N97 a couple a days ago, but it does not have software for the fm transmitter, on the nokia site it says that my country (Serbia) does not allow fm transmitters in phones. I am wondering is only the software missing or the actual hardware of the fm transmitter, and if only the software is missing can i somehow install it on my phone an use it?

Thanks.

Hmmm, good question. Is the FM Transmitter a hardware or software feature?

I really don't know, if I had to guess, I would say it's software.

In which, you would have to debrand your phone, give it a different product code, and then download teh latest Firmware version for that region ( obviously ensuring it has the FM Transmitter software, and any language support you may need )

I may well be wrong, pure speculation on my part.

I am from Serbia too. Change the Code to Balkan code and then update the phone. That way you will have the FM transmiter and the Serbian language. That is the only way. I didnt see anywhere that there is an separate application for that.

.

The actual FM tramsitter components will be hardware.
However, the firmware for Serbia couls simply disable it.

What RM-xxx code shows with the firmware? (*#0000#). If it's RM-505 then the transmitter hardware should be present.
