Has anyone got a debranded N97 repaired under warranty?

Hi,

I'm desperate to install the v20 firmware on my N97. I have the CPW black UK edition (product code 0587691) and I suspect I'll have to wait weeks or months for the update to appear for my phone.

The only thing i'm concerned about is potentially voiding my warranty.

My question is has anyone had a debranded N97 repaired under warranty and also if I need to get my phone fixed under warranty can I just apply the old product code?

Thanks for your help.

Ash

I suspect you will be disappointed if you debrand your phone and then try and get it repaired, so you'll have to pay instead.

If you have not debranded it yet, get the hardware fixes you want done first, and then debrand it. I'm considering this, although to be honest, the two known hardware issues aren't upsetting me much.

Regards
Neil

I got my N97 2 weeks back and so far no hardware issues. GPS works fairly well and no sign of lens scratching.

The only hardware issue has been a creaking back cover which i've sorted myself by putting a small piece of paper inside the cover.

I think i might give Nokia till monday to release it before i do the deed!
