Worrying trend - Adware on Ovi

Just a little heads-up you folks. There's something new and scary on Ovi Store - Ad Supported software! (this is a repost of my post on NokiaUsers.net but I figure it bears repeating)

Found a load of it yesterday, all of it by a company called innerActive. It has horrific obtrusive ad/nag screens before app launch and after shutdown. (All got quickly uinstalled too)

I understand developers need to make a living, but these almost seem designed to trick you into visiting the ad content. Personally, I prefer my advertising less in my face.

*sigh*

Biggest problem, it's all listed on Ovi as "Free" - methinks it needs a new category...

And when I reviewed these apps on Ovi store and mentioned that they were adware, I had my reviews "moderated" (that's pretend for deleted btw)

It's "download" all over again... I'm gonna stick with my freeware collection...

But Dave, don't you really, really want a Hannah Montana wallpaper or theme for your N97?

I'm beginning to wonder what the Finns think the demographics of the average N97 user are:

First, the creepy hands logo which borders on pedophilia. 😮

Second, the plethora of Disney-character themed images for your phone ("come here little girl, would you like to see some cartoons on my N97?"😉.

I could go on, but this is a family user forum. 😎
