Hello All,
I have a 7210 and have realised that when loading a '.mid' file into it only certain tracks are played at any one time....... being a musicaly minded guy I would say that this is down to the phones polyphonic capabilty!
Of which i presume is only 4 note.
I am interested in purchasing the new 3650 and was just wondering If this phone has a higher Poly Note than the 7210 ? - Or even the 7650 as the two phones appear to be virtualy the same spec (Ish).
I know the Samsung T100 has a poly Spec Of 16 and the ringtones (.mid) sound a whole lot better than compared to My Nokia 7210.

the 3650/7650 have 24 channels. Other nokias have just 4 channels.
(dont know about the just released new models)

No. The composer is just for .rng tones (the old nokia ring tones) 😞
You can send .mid with a app from www.wildpalm.co.uk but it has limits. Check it out. It has some editing capabilities too...
And SMS cant be used to send midis gotta use MMS.

Is anyone selling these phones in the UK yet ? I see the TV adds are running.... But alas.... no one seems to have them instock!

Or even a Cheap Source for the 7650....... The only difference seems to be the MMCard.

Really? I noticed that whenever I drag a midi file from PC to 3650 on PC Suite it comes out but bear in mind its not very loud. But you can fix this by doubling your tracks.. ie. If you have two of the exact same track it'll be twice as loud nearly. But I don't know how to do it; it just happened to be like that on the midi I have.
(also my really was @ the 24-note thing)
May I ask if anyone has any URLs for "free polyphonic ringtones"; that is we can download them as *.mid (and they are designed for Nokia 3650/7650 ringtones)?
I also found alot of the midis I transferred will play only when previewing the ringtones but not when a call actually comes in.. when calls come in it defaults to the 'Nokia tune' in a lot of cases :roll: Any ideas?
Seremify : Look out for a program called 'midipoly.exe' This neat little program allows you to switch off/on certain tracks, change instruments + best of all..... increase the volume of the Midifile.... (Max Volume for all tracks)..... It does a realy good job!
Also. by changing certain instruments to other sounds from the Nokia Sound-Bank they will sound alot more clear And Louder!
You just save out the newly adjusted Midi File.......

There are some at the series60 MM section of AAS, go and have a look. 😃

Do you have groups and a ringtones assigned to a group, as it overrides the individual ringtones. Or then its some 2.4x FW bug...

What do you mean 'individual ringtones'? I have mine set to Group "Family" and then I set ringtone to (anything) but whatever I set it to, when it rings it does Default ring.
Also when I set the ringtone in profiles to a midi which is non-standard (ie. not included with original phone) it doesn't play when it rings; but rather Nokia tune is played. Oddly though it plays when selecting (preview)?

Composer is just like old one except now you see it as music and it looks cooler.. but you can't make polyphonic ringtones or anything. Its just a basic tune maker.
