looking for games

I've never really bothered using my phones for games as the screens have always felt too small.

Now i understand that the N97 isn't the best for gaming, but, can anyone recommend any games worht looking at that are running on V2 firmware.

Ranging from quick time fillers, to proper adventure games.

Not interested in shooters though, got the 360 for that....

Ps..... quite happy to pay for a good game that just works!

Still can't find that games category.
But, i was looking for games that people are playing on V2 firmware, as a lot of software seems to be struggling on the newer firmware.

Also a review or suggestion from people actually playing games is, i find, better than someone having a quick look at it.

Thanks for the search suggestion though.

Actually there doesn't seem to be an All About Symbian Software category for S60 5th edition at all.

(anyone listening?)

Unfortunately.. hate to tell you..

that the N97/5800 is ONLY a Java Games machine that plays platform games from the Commodore 64 days..

Its sad and sick.. there is not enough developers that can do real programming and games. The best you can get is to get it from emulation. 😞

well i was looking at games like Zeus and Bejewled, nothing special, but i just want to see if they are worth the money.

I beg to differ. Only a few of the games on my N97 are Java.

Ones that are not...

BlockGO Lite
BoomShine S60
Bubbles
FridgeMagnets
Matchem
Meteor
Solitaire
Touch Card match

If you look in your Application Manager the ones with blue tagged puzzle piece icons are J2ME applications.

As far as emulating C64 games....there's an app for that....Frodo S60.

There are also other emulators for other old games, too (Picodrive for Sega Genesis, etc.)

Err..your list of eight titles versus the entire catalog of Gameloft JAVA games, Digitial Chocolate's JAVA collections, Electronics Arts JAVA games, GLU Mobile's JAVA Collection, - All 2D, Sprite based stuff with little to no playability and absolutely shamed in comparison to full 3D Console type games on the Iphone. (look at Asphalt 4 from Gameloft - compared to the iPhone version is so sad as is the ENTIRE catalog from Gameloft).

But then again, your list isnt very interesting either. A lot of them are repackaged Flash games into SIS.

The only REAL SIS/SISX games as I said are the emulators (MAME, VBAG, VSUN, PicoDrive, DosBOX, UAE4All) and the handful of games that has made it out like Skyforce and of course, the famous QUAKE I/II ports (Q3 is too slow without Hardware 3D Acceleration on the S60V5).
