Ok, my patience is running out waiting for Vodafone UK branded 0585262 firmware.
I will probably be debranding on Saturday to get the new firmware.
I have seen advice that anyone doing the upgrade should remove as much as possible and format 'c' and mass memory.
Can someone explain exactly what I will need to do to format 'c' and mass memory?
Any other tips gratefully accepted.
I have debranded my N95 before so know what to do there.

first goto file manager and backup contacts, bookmarks and cal entries to mem card, then format mass mem from file manager, then goto homescreen, open dialpad and type *#7370# and then put in ur security code (default is 12345) and phone will format c drive and reboot, then change code (id use euro 1 or uk code) then update, once done goto file manager and restore contacts, bookmarks and cal.
Install apps etc, sort settings, goto file manager and backup settings for future use,
job done.
Thanks. :icon14:

When you say goto file manager, are you referring to the one in Nokia PC suite?
I can't find one on my N97 and I can't see anyway to format in Nokia PC suite.
Must be going senile.

File Manager is there on your N97.
I can't tell you where, because i've moved my menu all around to where i like things.
At a guess though for you, i'd try apps folder first.
Yes, it's there. I didn't look there. 😃
Thanks...............
