Problem after upgrading firmware

9 replies · 2,759 views · Started 07 November 2009

I changed my code to the Uk black.

Upgraded to v2.0 and have now started to replace all my settings.

I am trying to add my home lan settings, but something strange is happening.

I select settings/connectivity/destinations, but when I do I get a 'system error' message and cannot progress.

Anyone know why?

Still having some problems......

I have configured my home wlan and the N97 connects, but I cannot find or perhaps remember where to enter the ip address, subnet mask, dns server etc.

I assign ip's on my network.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Found it and now working perfectly, but..............................

Since changing the code in NSS, I cannot get NSS to recognise the phone anymore.

I used the Uk unbranded code 0585162.

The phone seems to be working normally and nokia pc suite recognises it.

Should I be worried?

its hapend to a few ppl i know, dnt worry bout it, im sure its not a prob, not sure if its a nss prob or nokia driver problem conflicting with nss, if its a nss prob it will be sorted if the nss team know about it

When I first tried NSS it wouldn't recognise this phone, thats before I even attempted to change code. On a second ocassion, it was fine.

I think, if you fire up NSS immediately after closing down the Nokia Software Suite, that software is still "holding onto" the USB connection. Give it a little more time after you close down the Nokia stuff, and you should find NSS will read it. Thats what happened to me anyway.

I think I shut down and rebooted and had the same result.

I have managed to change the product code, so it's not a major problem, but am just curious why NSS won't recognise my phone after the change.

I am going to try another computer.

Tried another computer and got the same result.

Looked in task manager to see if anything Nokia related was running.

There was a Nokia server file running, so I shut it down.

Tried again and it worked first time.

So it was a conflict that caused the problem.

Even though I don't have Nokia Pc suite running on startup, this file was active.

This explains why even though I did reboot my other computer, it still wouldn't work.
