Get a pop3 account, and set it up on your phone... :-?
Or via WAP...

I'm interested... how did you think the applications were gonna get on the phone? Fly? 😉

Wap,maybe?I didn't read anywhere that you must have a p.c to use 7650,for purposes other than making phone calls.otherwise NOKIA should warn:for p.c owners only.

There is so much you can do with the phone that doesnt need a PC...
(taking pictures, email, MMS, WAP)
But it surely helps to have one.

blimmen heck, my 7650 cost 2x the price of an average pc, why don't you have a pc? I thought EVERYBODY had one?

Obviously, not everyone has one.And i don't see why you should need one to make full use of a mobile phone and everything it has to offer. It's a phone, not a p.c peripheral.everything should be availabke via wap.

it doen't work  they ask for password...do you know any else pop3 or imap4 for free 😃

It's a bit more than a phone... I'm sure you can take full advantage of everything the phone offers in it's standard guise without a PC.

What is WAP? It's an internet connection protocol (broadly speaking). What is the Internet? It's a collection of computers.
What is the 7650? It's a handheld computer with telephony capabilities.

WAP is just one of the many methods of connectivity offered on your 7650. Why should you assume EVERYTHING should be available via ONE connection method? That's exactly the same as me seeing it has a bluetooth port, and assuming I should be able to get EVERYTHING via bluetooth.

Why abuse Nokia when the product you want to install is nothing to do with them? Shouldn't you be asking the program developer to make the program available via wap?

I think you need to ask why you purchased the phone? and if it was to install 3rd party applications how did you think they were going to get onto the phone? Surely this is a question you would ask? I know I did and was told that I would need IrDA or Bluetooth if I wanted to download programs to the phone.

right on brother!!! :rainbowafro:

I have to admit that u have made a point there, evobit.but when it comes to Netfront for series 60 which is the reason i wrote in the first place,i think that ACCESS produced it as part of an agreement of coperation with NOKIA on the Symbian o.s.Anyway,i'm not in this forum to have an argument w/anyone.i was just looking for help. The kind of help that jyric tried to provide.

Obviously Evobit has a point there but it doesn't solve the problem of people not having a PC. Yes, developers should make their products available through WAP but, if you don't have a PC how do you know about the products?

I think network operators should be much more active in promoting applications, especially the ones generating data traffic, browsers, interactive games over GPRS (we may not be there yet...), either bundling them in the handset when sold or offering point of sales to load applications. They would eventually make money out of this extra traffic.

It is slowly happening now and i guess the first 7650 users were knowledgeable enough in IT to get the maximum out of their phone, but when these symbian handsets go for mass market and higher bandwidth is available, the business model has to evolve. On the other hand, we don't want to see a Microsoft-like approach and end up with handset packed with things we don't know what they're for 😉...let's think about what we want...market is user-driven, always.
what are the outgoing mail server and incoming mail server. which one we have to choose IMAP4 or POP3??
outgoing server is usually smtp.something.something
incoming is usually pop.something.something (if it uses pop3)

cant tell much cause you didnt tell much 😃
IMAP is in someways better that pop... depends on your needs.
Post more details, maybe can help you more.
(like the server addresses(not passwords or usernames 😃 ))

I want to use it in order to send attachments from my phone. bu I cannot. I think that my service rovider doesnt support
anyway I want to configure it 😊
do I have to enter username??
I want to use myrealbox
if these are not enough dont hesitate to ask 😃

Seems like the myrealbox doesnt support pop3 anymore with new users 😞 Sorry, for that. 😃
So you are out of luck there, but almost as good service is at: www.hotpop.com
So you could try that.

You can get the incoming and outgoing server addresses from here after registration:
