Trying to Install Google Applications

Well, the other night I decided to blitz my N97. I removed EVERYTHING, formatted EVERYTHING, re-downloaded the firmware, re-installed the firmware, re-installed my contacts and calendar items, re-installed 4100 mp3's and then started re-installing all my apps.

For whatever reason, I left the Google stuff (Search, Maps, YouTube) till last, probably because I was installing all the .sis & .sisx files from my PC first, knowing that I could do Google direct from their homepage later.

Anyway, I went to install Google Maps from m.google.com as usual. Clicked the link, got the verification check, pressed OK and it started to download. But as soon as it had finished downloading and it went to try and install I got a "File Corrupted" error. So I tried again. Same result. Tried Google Search, same result. Reset my DSL connection on my router, same result. Tried it over the mobile network, same result. 😡 :banghead:

So I gave up, thinking their maybe something wrong at the Google end. Tried again this morning and rather than get a "File Corrupted" error, it downloaded, started installing and THEN told me "Unable to install"!! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Can't figure out what it is. Every other .sis, .sisx and .jar file installed perfectly. And of course, apart from YouTube, I can't find Google Search or Google Maps as seperately downloadable apps anywhere else.

Could there be some remnant of a corrupt file lurking on my phone somewhere? If there is, I'm buggered if I can find it 😞

Any help greatly appreciated otherwise I'm one re-install away from kicking the sh*t out of this device 😡
