Guys/Gals....I am having a few issues with my N97 & was hoping the wealth of knowledge here could help me?
PC OS - Windows 7 64bit Home Premium
Phone OS - v11.0.021(Cant get 12 or 20 yet)
Provider - 3 Mobile
1. Created a note on the N97 notes application and saved fine...about 30 lines of text...When I go to send it via email...It populates only about the 1st 8 lines of text and misses all the rest...Is this normal? & can I fix it?
2. Ovi Suite 2.0(latest) syncs with my N97 via USB cable...The photo section in Ovi suite monitors a folder on my PC with loads of photo's, and OVi then lets me browse them via the suite...When I sync the phone, it takes any photo's I have taken with the camera and puts them into this folder, however it doesnt sync the folder to the phone...Again is this standard? and can I make it sync to the phone..creating a 2-way sync.
3. While syncing my phone..I have selected Calendar, notes and tasks as an option within OVI suite, however when I do a sync it fails with the below message-
"Sync Cancelled. Failed to sync the following content types, Calendar & Notes " syncing contacts from Outlook works okay both ways...So not sure what the issue is
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Cheers
John
Have you tried Nokia PC Suite? I've heard OVI suite is quite buggy.
Thanks for the heads-up that you can email directly out of the notes application. I had taken a bunch of seminar notes and was wondering the mechanics of getting them back to my workstation.
Back to your problem.
I sent my notes, some of them approaching 30 lines long via email to myself successfully, no truncation.
So...
Did you mistaking send them as an SMS message? That would explain the truncation if the Notes app doesn't support multi-segmented messages.
Could you possibly have entered a character which is interpretted by the email routines as an end-of-file character?
Have you tried copying the text from Notes to another application to see if there is something "odd" about it?
BTW...the Notes app has a strange way to copy text...
Options->Editing options->Copy->Start
then you select text and then press "Copy".
This seems to be different from other Symbian applications.
Sending as sms actually posts all the lines...So the send option to SMS is working okay....
I am using the new Nokia Messaging which I can only assume is possibly causing the problem...
Dont think I have anything else to use...I thought I could have copied the data into another app which would create a file that I could attach instead...But not got anything else....
Just to further update.....I can actually copy the text as per above...Then open the nokia mail app -> New Message and then paste all the data in...so there doesnt seem to be a format issue
