How much would a new screen cost?

My phone is going in for repair and one of the problems is that the touch screen doesn't work for a few minutes after I unlock it.

Thing is, there is a scratch on the screen which may or may not be causing this problem.

I really want the screen replaced to get rid of the scratch but am in two minds on whether to ask for a new screen because if I don't ask for one, maybe the screen will be replaced anyway because it's faulty!

However, I would not be surprised if the phone comes back with the same screen because the issue only happens once the phone has been locked for maybe an hour or more, so I reckon nokia won't bother testing it and will just say it's fine.

If I just say upfront that I want a new screen how much do you think I'm looking at? If it's not much I will go for it, if its quite a lot I might not ask and risk the phone coming back with the same screen.

Hope all that makes sense!!

Thanks for your advise guys :icon14:

I broke my N97 screen a week after I bought it by dropping it on the floor.

A new screen was 60 from Ebay and I swapped it myself in 10 minutes.

Thanks, so I'd probably be looking at 100 or more for Nokia to change it - quite a lot to spend on a 500 phone.

Decisions Decisions.

I'd not really want to do it myself because I have a very strong feeling I'll be needing the warranty again on this phone! 😊

Ah! That's interesting. In that case, I might send it off, and if the screen is not changed, get CPW to do it which hopefully won't mean sending the phone off for a few weeks. :icon14:

Thanks 😊
