How to save my audio clips

Hi,
I am a new user of the 5800 Express music. I want to save my audio clips on my PC running Ubuntu 9.10. I use USB transfert. I cannot see the audio files on my phone . How can I do that ? The Nokia PC suite is not running on Linyx...

Trust the Linux guy to be up at 4 a.m. Good for you, learning while everyone else dozes! 😊

Sound clip storage is a bit daft, but maybe this is the info you need: In real life the files all live at E:\Sounds\Digital\
and are named Sound clip xx.amr (for low/mms quality sound clips) or Sound clip xx.mp4 (for high quality sound clips).

I record hundreds of short songwriting ideas on the phone. On the phone screen it would be great if they were all safely tucked away at Gallery -> Soundclips and nowhere else but the mp4 hi-quality clips are a bit awkward, appearing not in the soundclips folder but under gallery -> songs (search "all songs" to find them) and under multimedia button -> video button (opens Video Centre) -> My videos. But not under Gallery -> images and videos.

If you use linux you may enjoy the Y-Browser free app on the 5800. Very good for seeing what's really going on and where things really are. And for finding episodes of 24 you've dragged and dropped to E:\My Videos\ instead of E:\Videos\ . I have no idea why the Nokia people name the Video Centre's video file as "My videos" and not have it read content from E:\My Videos\ but I'm sure there's a reason. It certainly keeps me on my toes.😊
