E71 (S60) : program key strokes for specific action

2 replies · 5,968 views · Started 14 November 2009

Any one would know an app which could be used to associate an action to programmed keystrokes?

eg.

"up up" -> profile is normal, "down down" -> profile is meeting

"long w" -> opens XYZ application

Smart Settings does it partly already for the keybord locks/unlock. Would be cool to have the same also for picking quickly a profile, or to launch apps.

?

Easy shortcut for profiles , you can use the build-in shortcut : LONG-press the # key : it lets you switch between 'General' and 'Silent' .
Free Application Manager JBakTaskman :
http://jbak.ru/jbaktaskman_en.php
--When JBakTaskman is launched , LONG-press Menu/Home key to retrieve it .
--You can set 1,2,3 etc and a,b,c, etc as app shortcuts .
--Press space : Now you can select an app by entering the app's name

jApi, you again! 😊

for some reason the long-# does not work on my phone (AZERTY). Long-* does, though...

For the one-touch start, I guess I will stick to the short- long- press of the menu keys, that will do. What I still miss is the easy switch between profiles -- I am used to switching regularly between four and like to do it manually (the scheduled / location-based are not practical)

If there is no easy app, I am happy to change my habits back to using two modes and to using the long-# together with redefining the General and Silent modes -- but again my long-# does not work. I'll browse a little to see if there is any issue related to AZERTY

thx and best regards
