Wasn't familiar with the app so I looked it up.
Peer-to-Peer Music sharing...not "available" in some countries (like the USA).
You need to be careful with that sort of app--a thorough reading of my carrier's (AT&T) terms and conditions and peer-to-peer over their system is considered a violation.
Does this application have any way that you can force it only to use WiFi?
At least they're working on it

Peer to Peer Music sharing? Shurley that is illegal?
Where can I get it?

The Spotify service is, at it's heart, a PC/Mac web based service that allows you to stream high quality music from the vast Spotify library.
It has a 3 sided business model. The free version allows unlimited access to the library (however, certain titles are exclusive to premium members, usually pre-releases of albums) but you will get audio ads as well as flash banner ads in the player itself. The frequency of these ads are such that they are not obtrusive and will, on average, occur maybe once or twice if listening to a 12 trach album. So not too disimilar to a commercial radio station.
There are then 2 paid version. Firstly, you can purchase a day licence for 99p which gives you unlimited access and no ads.
The final option is 9.99 a month and gets you unlimited, ad free access to EVERYTHING, plus a slightly higher bitrate on the stream for improved audio quality.
The service has been a phenomenal success in the countries it has launched in. It's often vaunted as the future of music consumption.
Now, the mobile service is not necessarily just a mobile streaming service. Aside from regular streaming, you can also sync your playlists to your mobile from the PC app, or you can go searching on the mobile, and then it downloads the audio to your mobile device so that you can listen offline. It will store, dependent on available storage space on your device, up to 3333 songs for 30 days between re-syncs. You can do this across a maximum of three devices. So, in effect, there is little trouble with data contracts. The app is currently only available on iPhone & Android devices with a Symbian variant in development.
It's worth noting that the mobile app will only work if you have the premium subscription.
Here in the UK, 3 Mobile have just launched an android device with Spotify pre-installed and paid for (for 2 years).

Perfectly legal. Spotify do licencing deals with the labels and it seems to have been a rip roaring success. It's a totally legitimate business fully supported by the artists and labels.
The free accounts are now only available if you get invited by a fully paid up user.
Luckily I got my free account when anyone could get one.
It really is a superb service.
