TIP - disable power menu during power on/off

4 replies · 7,235 views · Started 14 March 2003

The default setting is when you power on/off always asks you for flight mode. This may be a inconvinience.

see page 53 - Flight mode.
to deactivate power menu

phone - edit - preference - flight mode - untick box.

You can activate flight mode when you need it:

phone - edit - preference - flight mode - click Flight Mode Now.

cool thanks for reading the manual for us, i only use it at last resorts, and this is really handy! 😉

Yeah, i guess since i don't travel that much, i should just turn off that feature.

At least now i know i can just go to phone preferences to turn on flight mode.

That feature is for frequent traveller's use.

Recently on my flight to Bangkok, I had the opportunity to test out the flight mode; so I happily set into flight mode now. P800 blocked any incoming or outgoing calls. I was looking at the calendar, when the flight steward told me to switch off the handphone. Because P800 looks more like a handphone than a PDA, they insist that we switch it off.

Any comments ?

Next time put the headphones on so they can see that its just a PDA. I recently just came from singapore from a convention and on both my flight there and on my way back I used my Clie NR70V to listen to MP3s and transfer notes, nobody bothered me and I was sitting right in front economy seats. This was Philippine airlines though, and on the announcements, I also hear the PDA's and laptop computers may be use on the flight.
