So the most recent firmware update for the E90 was announced some time
in June, and *still* isn't available for my UK unbranded E90 (product code
0552464). I can't help wondering what's going on at Nokia: I can understand
that updates to branded devices might be delayed by operator concerns, but
I can't see what the holdup is for unbranded devices. Grr!
Also, although I haven't seen anything official, it looks as though the E90
has been discontinued.

Not a minor rant, from my point of view. E90 is my 4th Communicator and it will be time soon to consider its successor. Given the poor user support from Nokia (specially regarding firmware upgrade failures), where flagship E90 has lost consideration from its 'parents', I doubt seriously about my next choice: if I spend something like EUR 600 for a new Nokia Communicator, I wouldn't like to have practically no technical support in case of problem. My understanding of the expensiveness of such devices is that it includes strong user support.
if we look at previous updates we see that E90 updates are not so often.
even if they launch a new communicator, I doubt will be proud to replace current one.
E90 is like extincted dinosaurs...one of few still living...
now toutch devices and no full qwerty keyboard find their place into new +500 EUR devices buyer category.
and latest firmwares of nokia e90 brougt few updates...
so why next should bring a major one?
regards,
I agree, the successor is not available yet. I am ready to pay EUR700, but not for a device not fulfilling the Communicator specifications (mainly complete, extended keyboard, but also large screen, minimal plastic, professional built-in apps).
E90 is currently still the only one.
i uninstalled exisiting firmware and install new version but i have got an error message as follows;
Jaflog.txt was not found
does anyone has the solution?
thank you.
