Hi everyone,
i hope i'm not reapeating any newb question, but i did search the forum for half a day without any results.
My problem. i bought a Nokia XM 5800 off from a friend. its in very good condition, but i was told i require the latest firmware for the best performance.
The phone's current firmware is 10.0.010, it's old, i know. so i proceed to download the latest Nokia Software updater. From the NSU, the latest firmware available to me is the 21.0.025.
i back up all the data on the phone, then i plug in the USB cable. i selected PC Suite. The NSU detects my phone. and i proceed to click update.
Problem:
the phone turns itself off and on by itself, then the NSU detects my phone off and ask me to reconnect. this happens 2 maybe 3 times, then the phone turns on like normal and enters PC suite mode, while the NSU just hangs there. no response. i risk it by unplugging the USB. the NSU hung, no warning, nothing.
But my phone is still running fine. no errors or sudden restarts. but my firmware is still 10.0.010. is this common? is there a way i can troubleshoot? i'm ok with tech jargons, but as long as i dont proceed to programming languages i'm ok.
hope someone can help.
