2 replies · 8,601 views · Started 27 November 2009

I have just bought a nokia 5530, connected to to my home wlan (no security), now problem is i can browse all lan system, even the router but i can't browse any internet. Whenever i open any site i get a "time out" while on my laptops (which are connected to same wlan) everything works just perfectly, even on my iphone.

I also tried a hard reset but no use. Any ideas?

Okay i get a "No gateway reply" and i checked the post your linked . Here is what i did and the output:

(In both of cases wlan has no security)

Scenario 1:
I make a new WLAN on my laptop, give it ip of 172.30.20.10 and enable connection sharing so any devices connecting via wlan to my laptop should have access to internet as well.

I connect my 5530 with 172.30.20.11 ip and opendns, run tcpdump on my machine and try browsing on my nokia 5530

I do the same, except that this time i assign:
192.168.1.111 as my 5530 ip, 192.168.1.1 as gateway (which is one of my non-wireless routers) and set dns. this time:
