Hi,

Finally, I have decided to post the beta version of FExplorer 1.08 on 'allaboutsymbian'; this beta is only available in english and expired on march 31st; if you want to return to the previous version 1.07, please download it from www.gosymbian.com

to try the editor, for example, go to c:\system\shareddata, highlight an '.ini' file, go to file-edit to see the content.

any comments, remarks, ... are welcomed

what's new :

* a 'settings menu' has been added that allows to configure
FExlp. (the settings are saved); you can set up the color
in list, the display of the full path in full screen mode
the full screen mode.

* a confirmation dialog is showed before quitting the pgm

* the restart function has a confirmation message

* it's possible to edit the text files (like ini...)

* the size of the files are displayed on each line and the
font is smaller to display more character.

WARNING TO EVERYBODY
Do not touch those shareddata ini-files!! If you don't know what you are doing (and most of you really don't!), you may end up with a non-bootable phone.

Is there any plan for the following functions in feature version? or these functions already exist? (Obviously I havent install FExplorer.. I'll be reading the info at the official page.. just want to ask FExplorer users and Domi about the functions mentioned below)

Copy a file to Clipboard or Inbox
Mark/unmark (useful if copying/cutting more than 1 file)
Set Operator Logo (this will be cool)
Create New Text Document
Create path as shortcut or add to favorites
Enable/Disable Infrared
Sort the files by date, name, extension or size
Control Volume/Repeat on/off (not very important)
Auto Keyguard
KeyLock (for 7650 users)
Clean Temp Files

If yes.... No doubt....FExplorer will beat SeleQ, eFileman and HandyFile 😉

I think that, only if the file size can be kept under 40kB, should these be included.

First Ive forgotten my password 😞 sort that at home..

Just reset the 7650 and lost my beta file.

Domi's removed the link and the normal version wont download anymore 😞

can someone email me it please - beta if possible?

Ah and my views for future use - zip functionality - I think this is the weakest bit on my phone at the mo, the ability to just copy a file into a zip file and store it on the phone - I know there is zipman bit it seems more interested in sending and receiving emails not dealing with them on the phone!
