RM Problems

I'm running into problems trying to convert AVI to RM

First i used vcdcutter to resize to 128x88 as per your recommendation (with the other options you mentioned)
then i tried Nokia's MMConverter and got an error on ACC.DLL
I also tried with Helix producer, but after copying to the Nokia 9210i, the VideoPlayer gave the message:
"Clip not playable"

Any solution to both problems?

Thanks,
NBP

It look like things are mixed up a littel bit. MMConverter convert the file so it can be playable only on the communicator, with the extention NIM. but you say you have an error with this program.
If you use any other program (like Helix) to convert to RM, then you can't play it with the Video player, you need REAL Player. you will find this software on the CD that came with your Communicator. make sure it's installed on your device. and have a nice viewing.

Yes download the MultiMediaConvertor from Nokia and you'll be able to convert your avi files to NIM, these can be played on the videoplayer

Did you pay a couple of hundred bucks for Helix Producer Plus or are you using Helix Producer Basic? Because if you are using Basic then you'll always get error messages because you can't change the settings to make it playable on the 9210 (the settings for this are @ http://www.realnetworks.com/resources/howto/mobile/video_file_general_local.html )

I have the full version of real producer and have also followed the directions. It seems I can only get the audio to work. I get a black screen while playing. Any suggestions.

Also it is best to insure the media file is .RM not .RAM

I converted to size using videoDUB and then compressed it using Real Producer 8.5 to a stream at 45Kbps. I shall attach a clip and let you see what you think of it, it's an Anime Music Vid, to Sarah McLachlan's Silence.

Ok I can't attach it so get it here while it's hot.

Already down? 😃

Elementery error, should be all systems go now. I find the file is bearable to watch on my PC at fullscreen too, although I have to sit back a fair few feet.

I used Helix pro, and I did have some problems at first. It works okay now, so here is the job file I now use to encode all of my videos.
