P800 & Groupwise

Hi
Does anybody know if the P800 can sync with Groupwise?
If so anything I need to know - limitations etc?
Thanks

So far there is no third party app that supports sync. Sure.
Pumatech Intellisync STOPPED support for Symbian one release ago (V4). Maybe they pick it up again... some time.

There are three ways you can follow:

1.) Use the MAPI capabilities of the GW client: Install GW6SP2 or GW 6.5 client, then Outlook (full) plus supercrappy PC Sync software that comes with your P800. Then create a new account within Outlook, choose vendor "other" and the GroupWise Transport should show up. Now you can use most GW-client functions from within Outlook. You can also sync mails, contacts, calendar through Outlook between GW and P800. Unfortunately the Transport works not so well: Sometime sync fails with no reason, sometimes it works fine. Oh, it WON'T work with GW before 6 Service Pack 2. You'll get even more erros.

2.) Use SyncML over the Internet. This is what I want to follow since I hate the solution above and I hate Outlook and I hate P800 Sync-Software. You'd have to set up a SyncML Server (I think Toffa makes one that has a GW interface), unfortunately also a simple WebServer and then you should be able to sync all data through HTTP. I'm still wondering, if you can also make a HTTP connection with the P800 through Bluetooth, because otherwise you would need to make a costly Internet-connection through your GSM/GPRS provider everytime you want to sync...

3.) Pray. Maybe someday Pumatech will support Symbian again. Or maybe folks at Sony or Symbian will realize that their current software is CRAP and by far, far, far worse that anything available for PalmOS or PocketPC. Really embarrassing what they deliver.

Good luck! Yes, I'm frustrated. :-?

Hi

Thanks for that very detailed reply.
I'll have a look at the Toffa solution and do more research into SyncML.
