G'day all,
last night i installed the 2nd beta of Opera Mobile 10 and have been playing with it for a while and have not had a memory error as of yet.
It has a bit more fruit and may even have smoother scrolling
Enjoy.

Cool! :icon14:
Have installed.
Couple of things.
If you install using Opera 10 beta it will ask you where to save the SIS file. I chose 'Documents'. This actually puts the file in C:/Other. You may want to delete it after the install to save space on the drive.
Also, the option to turn the on-screen keyobard off is no longer there. That's a bit annoying. You can't turn it off in Settings/Application manager/Installed app. either.

if you click on the list of options to install and then scroll downwards, you can save file in mass memory or memory card, you are not limited to 'documents' or C drive. hope this helps, its not obvious when you first download something using Opera 10
Yep, I think I also had the option to save in Music or Images, but thought Documents was the most appropriate.... it just didn't save it in there 😊
I will try this later, as I did love the first Beta other than the OOM errors that made it unusable!
One other thing was that if I used the physical keypad to enter text it only ever entered letters and didn't respond to pressing the blue key to get numbers/symbols, so I had to use the on screen keyboard to get to those. Has that changed? Or did that affect other people with the original Mobile 10 Beta?

I haven't checked in the new one, but in B1, you had to hold down the blue/shift keys and then press the other button.
I was wrong, turn on full screen edit in the advanced section of the menu and it turns the on screen keyboad off.
Then you can use the physical keyboard to write what you want... @1',.&=/6
😊
Just tried it, like Beta 1 I think it's a massive improvement over Mini in terms of speed, fluidity, GUI etc. but I've just given up on it again due to the fact I got through 2 pages (flickr homepage, flickr sign-in page) before getting an OOM error, I had Opera, email and (the new) Ovi Store open at the time. It shut email and stopped Ovi from responding after the error.
I love the changes in comparison to Mini, but I can't be bothered dealing with the problems.
I know what you mean, I gave up on Beta 1, but Beta 2 has been flawless so far 😊
Still doesn't support the N97 press and hold feature to get the other symbols.
Does on mine....
I have to say, I did a full reset of my phone the other day and tried Beta 2 since then and haven't had any memory issues whatsoever. Loving it so far, huge improvement over Mini.
