SymbianWare has released SmsMachine, a SMS answering machine for your 7650/3650 phone and you can fully customise it to your liking. With predefined messages to different contacts.
From SymbianWare:
SmsMachine is a fully customized SMS answering machine for your smartphone. You can predefine any number of response messages automatically sent to people calling you or sending SMS or MMS to you to fully customize your needs.
There are custom responses for persons from contacts, for groups of persons from contacts, for custom phone numbers, default response, black list, selective situations, message templates, tight interaction with Contacts and Messaging applications, handy log, etc, etc...

You can define and fully customize your responses. There are 3 types of rules.
- Black list: here you can define the list of correspondents you don't want to respond to with SmsMachine. If this rule is activated when SmsMachine gets a call or a message from anyone it will try to find this person in black list first, no response will be sent if found.
- Default: here you can define message sent if no custom messages are found (if default rule is activated). If no custom message is found and default rule is not activated then no response will be sent.
- Custom: You can define as many custom responses as you want. In custom response you can link corresponders with custom message. So, for your relatives you can set up one response message, for your colleague second one, etc.
Other features
- SmsMachine sends only one answer to each number during the session. This helps to avoid the continued SMS loop between two devices equipped with SmsMachines. New session begins when you turn SmsMachine on and ends when you turn it off.
- If a caller's number hasn't been defined (for voice calls) no response will be sent.
- In order not to waste disk space SmsMachine automatically deletes sent messages from "Sent folder". All information about sent responses you can find in SmsMachine Log view.

If only we could set some prefix exclusion to avoid sending sms to fix line numbers and set individual phone numbers from contacts instead of manual input.
Other than that great program!
agree, should avoid to send sms to non sms compliant numbers as each sms cost 20 cents (Switzerland)

Thanks, good idea. We'll think about it.

Seems like i don't understand. You can add to your correspondents' list persons and group of persons from Contacts easily. Or did you mean something else?
Yes, but some persons have more numbers like mobile or fixed or fax and what I would like is that I can chose wich number of that person to put on black list to avoid sending without retyping it manualy or you could filter replys on data based in contacts database ie. if number is marked like mobile reply if not then do not reply.
And one more idea, could it be possible to send message to unanswerd voice calls only.
Don't get me wrong, program is great.
I would like ability to send predefined SMS to a number/numbers at set time.
Like, I would set it to send a SMS tomorrow at 12 to my friend to remind him
of a meeting at 1pm. That would be great. 😃
Made a comparsion for SMS Machine and SMS Assistance, both appl have pros and cons.
The thing i like SMS Assistance is that it can able to deactivate the appl in a time set by the user. Where the SMS Machine don't have.
SMS Machine have detail reponses and in detail profile and detail group or name and a certain set of phone numbers to reponse where SMS Assistance lack of.
Overall both appl are GOOD. I still prefer SMS Machine. Well Done!!! I do hope the next version will have time deactivate feature.

Hi Zeus,
I think what avoloder meant is when we add correspondents, SmsMachine should show the list of all the numbers of a particular contact. For Example. I selected "janet" in the list of my contacts, SmsMachine should show to me all the numbers that Janet has...
Having this function will allow users to choose on which mobile phone (with SMS subscription) will be use as the correspondents. Please note that some contacts has 2 or 3 mobile numbers 😉
I think this has something to do with integrating SmsMachine with the built-in contacts? I'm not sure coz I'm not a programmer LOL
One thing I know Nokia phone shows the list of numbers if I press call in one of my contacts (that is if I dont create a defaut numbers for each contacts). We hope SmsMachine will do the same
Thank you 😊))
I would like a way to make the phone able to not play the tune for certain SMS number. Is it possible with this app? It seems to me that in every case the phone will play the tune, right?
thanks in advance and great product ^__^n advance and great product ^__^
