Hi,
I hope someone can help me over here.
My contacts.cdb got disturbed. Luckyly I copied the contents to a second database ContactsB.cdb.
How can I force the 9500 to use that cdb ?
I tried also to change the Extra/pcSync settings by pointing Contacts to that ContactsB.cdb.
But when I start syncing on the PC, PC-sync gets into "Waiting for Nokia 9500" and finally a message "The mobile phone has not responded ...."
I tried already to rename the contacts.cdb, but it is always in use (even after a reboot)
I tried also to put the contactsB on the memory-card, same results.
How can I proceed ?
Thx
When it is a software disfunctioning , you could try the Ctrl + Shift + I manupulation , as discribed in my post , called : "RAM" , here

This is how it works on my 9300i where I regularly move between Contacts and BakUpOldContacts databases. BakUpOldContacts was created in the Contacts application using menu option File/MoreOptions/NewDatabase and I then moved selected contacts to this new database using menu option File/MoreOptions/Move to...
To select different databases for the Contact application:
1) Navigate to the very first contact in the current database
2) Press the Up key a number of times to move up past the first contact
3) This then shows a list of alternative contacts databases
4) Move the cursor to the database you need and press enter to select it
5) The selected database now becomes the default Contacts database.
6) If Contacts is closed down the selected database will now be opened automatically rather than Contacts.cdb
I think that the Contacts.cdb database can only be copied, moved etc from either the Contacts application or the BackUp application on the device as using a file manager for this purpose will generate a "file in use" error. Presumably, this is because the telephone application is always running and the contacts database must be available to the phone application.
I hope that this helps.
