How to... on the Mini

Sorry for the stupid questions, but it just doesn't seem remotely obvious to me...

How do I...

1) close a web page?
2) close an application?

I am getting out of memory errors and it asks me to close applications or web pages. It should be obvious how it is done... but can't figure it out! And the help sucks!

It depends on wheather you want to keep the app or web page(s) running in the background. If you're getting out of memory errors then you probably have too much running in the background, and it's eating up all your ram.

To have an app run in the background, select "hide" from the options menu. To completely close the app, select "exit" from the options menu.

To see what apps are running in the background, press and hold the menu button, and this will bring up a list of all apps that are running.

Pressing and holding the icon for a running app in that list will give you an option to close it...

Just a question : what happens , when an app is open and you press the red - end call - key ? I think it should close the app .....

Edit : here are some links about saving memory on related Phones , i.e. Nokia 5800 and N97 Classic :

press and hold the menu key, and this will bring up the task manager which shows all of the apps running in the back ground. then close each one as you need to.

you can install a better task manager. i use handy taskman, and it really makes it better.

holding the red button on the standby screen will also close any active data connection or ask for permisson to close

quite handy to kill 3g connection if its stuck etc

Pressing red in an App normally keeps it running and takes you back to the home screen, but in some Apps red closes them. It's not totally consistant.
