I was trying to transfer some audio clips and pictures from my p800 to my brothers via bluetooth. We got the phones connected ok, but I could not find any way to simply send the files. How do you do this, I did search for bluetooth file transfer but came up blank.
Transferring files with BT between 2 P800's
Don't have 2 P800 to try it out. 😮ops:
OK how would you do it if you wanted to transfer some files to a PC via bluetooth
what files exactly?
Assuming you have already paired the devices and both their bluetooth's are already on.
For pictures:
1.) Go to Applications>Media>Pictures
2.) Click on the picture you want to send.
3.) Click on the "Pictures" word on the upper left of the picture (this is the option button for that scree)
4.) Click send as then choose bluetooth (or you can send via IR also). It will now search for bluetooth devices and should find your other P800 with the assumptions above. Click on the P800 device found.
5.) The other P800 will then recieve it by clicking ok.
Voila.
For Sounds/mp3/etc do the same process above except click on Audio instead of pictures in step one.
Ive done this with a P800 and a 3650 and another P800 of a friend of mines and of course to my PC.
I sent many files from P800 to Nokia 7650 and otherwise also. I paired them and it is possible to go to file-send-bluetooth-choosing the other phone. The sending beginns and it works well.

When you have them paired already, all you have to do is right click on the PC file and choose send as bluetooth..
Ahhh. But the problem will come if the file you are sending is not audio, video, picture, or xls, doc, pdf files.
Ex: You want to send an SIS file. That you stored on your P800. How do you send that to someone else via Bluetooth? Qfileman can't send via bluetooth.
Which reminds me, why can't i infrared a picture taken with my P800 to a Nokia 6100? It has a gallery to store pictures in.
For the sis file you could try attaching it to an MMS or email I guess...
For the 6100 thingm my GF use to have a 7210 and it coudlnt recieve pics as well taken from the 7650.. weird actually but thats just that. I think its because of the file size. Our pics are porbably too big for the 6100.
But what about a picture from a 7650 sent via bluetooth to a T68i? I have a friend who did that and the picture came out fine.
Don't say the T68i has a larger screen than the 7210 or 6100.
Just proves the SE canhandle pics better 😊 Which contradicts the pic quality of the P800 😞
Good point. Although i'm happy with daytime pictures from my P800. It's just the indoor pics that annoys me.
Hmmmm. Sending SIS files, or any other unknown file thru MMS or e-mail defeats the purpose of the bluetooth communication capabilities of our phone.
