:icon4:My 2 year old unbranded N95-1 v30 hadn't created any problem till now. It has started giving error " sim registration failed" every now and then. Its the same sim and operator I have been using for 2 years. Restarting often resolves the issue, but how often can u do that? Its out of warranty, and when I took it to NCC, they said its sim card reader IC needed to be replaced and charged 550 Rs. It worked for 1 odd month and again it has started giving me tht error. I just wanted to ask some Techie that what exactly causes this error? Sim card and phone gold contacts are CLEAN. I used the sim card in other phone for 15 days and its just fine. Just wanna know if it is repairable or should I throw the phone away?

try this:

cut a piece of paper with the shape of your simcard, make it almost as thick as the simcard thickness.

then plug your simcard and put the piece of paper on top of it, close the gate of the simcard reader

there you go problem solved
had the same issue😎

the idea here is to press a little your simcard with the paper to make some pressure to simcard reader stuffs of your phone.
